Baked Tomato Spaghetti Squash

TOMATOSQUASHBaked Tomato Spaghetti Squash is an easy way to make your pasta a little healthier plus it tastes great. If you’ve never made spaghetti squash before, once baked, the squash comes off the edges and looks just like spaghetti. It is very mild tasting so it goes with any sauce you would normally put over pasta.

Throw some meatballs on top or try with another sauce.

Baked Tomato Spaghetti Squash
Baked Tomato Spaghetti Squash is an easy way to make your pasta a little healthier plus it tastes great.   1. If you are making tomato sauce, there is a link for my recipe in the recipe notes. If you prefer, you can use purchased sauce.

  2. To make the spaghetti squash, cut off the edges and then cut in half lengthwise.

  3. Scoop out all the seeds and then place them on a foil lined baking dish. Drizzle with the olive oil and then salt and pepper the spaghetti squash.

  4. Bake in a 375F oven for around 1 hour. Test by pulling the squash from the edge with a fork. If it's still hard, cook longer.

  5. Once the spaghetti squash is cooked, fill them with tomato sauce. If you didn't make the sauce, heat it in a small sauce pan prior to adding it to the squash.

  6. Slice the fresh mozzarella.

  7. Top the sauce filled spaghetti squash with the mozzarella.

  8. Turn the oven up to 400F. Put the pan back into the oven until the mozzarella is melted and starts to brown a little.

  9. Each half is one serving.

  10. Use your fork to pull the spaghetti squash from the edges.
