If you’re making a holiday cookie tray, Holiday Spritz Cookies make a colorful, fun addition. Spritz cookies are butter cookies so they go well with any toppings.
The cookie dough is pretty soft but firm enough to hold its form when it goes through a cookie press. If it’s too hard or soft, it will be difficult to work with so adjust your flour amount, if needed.
Some other holiday cookies you might try are Cranberry Orange White Chocolate Shortbread or one of my favorites, Italian Sesame Cookies.

If you're making a holiday cookie tray, Holiday Spritz Cookies make a colorful, fun addition. Spritz cookies are butter cookies so they go well with any toppings.
Preheat oven to 350F. Add the butter to a large mixing bowl.
Mix until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and egg yolks.
Add the flour, 1/2 cup at a time.
On parchment lined baking sheets, add the cookies. If you are adding any sprinkles, dried fruit or candies, add them now.
Bake for about 10 minutes. The cookies should be light in color, only lightly browned on the bottom.
Let the cookies completely cool. Once cooled, you can ice the cookies or dip in melted chocolate.
